ARTIST STATEMENT
JUSTINE HIOSAN
A vest made from cardboard from a photo album and coloured anodised aluminium jump rings. The choice to use anodised aluminium rings is a conscious choice reflecting the price of silver. The vest fits over curves and moves gently with the body. Women wear jewellery and fashion like armour, sometimes unconsciously other times very consciously. Floral Armour is made from cardboard; there is a fragility in the material projecting the perceived fragility of femininity.
